Defining User Access to projects
Top  Previous  Next

CS-RCS System-level:
All users accessing Internet projects need to be defined as users with Internet access. For more information see Adding New Users in the Configuring the Security Policies section in Customizing CS-RCS

CS-RCS Project-level:
By default, the 'Everyone' security group grants Read and Modify permissions for all CS-RCS users who access central-repository projects locally and over the Internet. This default is appropriate for most situations.

If you wish to grant access permissions for specific users only, do the following:

1.Open the project Properties.
2.Switch to the Security tab.
3.Clear the Inherit permissions from system option.
4.Make sure the Administrators group includes the desired users only.
5.Select the 'Everyone' group and clear all permissions.
6.Define a new group and grant it the Read and Modify permissions. Assign the desired users to the group.
7.If you want to grant some users the read-only access permission, define an additional group and grant it the Read permission. Assign the desired users to the group.
8.Make sure the Inherit permissions from system option is set on all sub-projects and no extra permissions are granted.
