| From the login screen of the client, click Test Environment. A new window opens and the test is performed automatically.

| Type http://ServerName/VirtualDir/asp/admin/indexadm.asp in your Internet Browser. Press Site Test to perform the test.

| For example, to test the ComponentSoftware RCSBrowser demo site, type: http://www.componentsoftware.com/RCSBrowser/asp/admin/indexadm.asp

| · | Errors starting with 'CLIENT:' - You selected not to install the RCSBrowser ActiveX Control when prompted by the Internet browser. This means RCSBrowser is running in a limited mode and is unable to perform the test. If you do not wish to work in limited mode, click F5. You will receive a message regarding downloading of the ActiveX control. Answer 'Yes' to this.

| · | Errors starting with 'SETUP:' indicate server setup problems. The CS-RCS administrator needs to re-install the RCSBrowser add-on on the server.

| · | Errors starting with 'ACCESS:' indicate server access permission problems. Often, the test specifies the folder that is causing the problem. The CS-RCS administrator needs to make sure that Internet users have read and write access to the C:\RCSBrowser folder and to the CS-RCS Repository folder.

| 1. | To set the access, right-click on the folder and click Properties. Switch to the Security tab. (In Windows XP, you may enable the Security tab by selecting the Tools | Folder options menu in the Windows Explorer. Switch to the View tab and clear the 'Use simple file sharing' option.)

| 2. | Set the Full control permission for the 'Everyone' or 'Users' group.

| 3. | For better security, you may clear the Write permission of the C:\RCSBrowser\Asp folder.
