Retrieve Revision Dialog
Top  Previous  Next

The check-out and update commands are used to retrieve a working copy of the project.
The Retrieve revision command is used to retrieve a "frozen" revision to an alternative folder. This alternative folder has many uses, e.g. used as a reference copy for technical support personnel. The Project revision can be retrieved by specifying one of several criteria. However, if you have a milestone you wish to retrieve, you should use the Retrieve revision command from the Project Milestones dialog box.

To open the Retrieve Revision dialog:
1.Open the Document Explorer
2.Right-click on the desired folder in the project tree and select Retrieve Revision.
Note: If a project is selected in the tree, the Milestone Retreive Revision dialog is opened. Refer to Retrieving a Project's Revision

This dialog box includes the following properties:
·Head Revision – Retrieves the newest revision from the RCS repository.
·By date – Retrieves the project revision as it was on a specific date.
·By symbolic name – Retrieves all files marked with the given RCS symbolic name.
·Work Folder – The default tree root for this retrieve operation. (read-only field)
·Retrieve to – Specify the actual tree root for this retrieve operation.
·Show retrieve fail messages – New and deleted files cannot be retrieved when retrieving by date or by name. Clear this option to mask these expected error messages.
