How do I use CS-RCS over the Internet?
Top  Previous  Next

CS-RCS supports the following methods for remote projects:

·The RCSBrowser add-on provides optimized access to co-located projects over the Internet. For full details, see: http://www.componentsoftware.com/products/RCSBrowser.

·The CS-CVS add-on implements the CVS client/server protocols. You may use it with dedicated CVS servers or with 3-rd party servers. For full details, see: http://www.componentsoftware.com/products/cvs

·CS-RCS Pro supports FTP projects. With this feature, you may store a remote project on any globally accessible FTP server. This method is suitable for small projects only (up to 25 files, files smaller than 100KB). For details, see Working with projects in the User Guide.

·You may locate the project Repository on an Internet or Intranet server and access it as a normal Windows web-folder or over a VPN. For example, you can define the project Repository folder as \\195.198.4.3\RCS\Project1 or \\www.mycompany.com\RCS\Project1. This method is suitable for mid-size projects only (up to 1000 files, files smaller than 100KB).
