I work with a laptop computer. How should I install CS-RCS?

Run the CS-RCS Master setup on the laptop selecting a local folder, e.g., C:\RCS as the Repository root. All private projects should be defined as Central repository projects.

To access a shared project:

1.

Ask the CS-RCS administrator to create a security group in the project and add your username to the group.

2.

Create an Alternate repository project specifying the network path of the project as the Repository folder.

Tip: You may use the Windows "Make available offline" feature to hold a copy of the repository, or specific projects, on your laptop. This allows you to use CS-RCS commands when you leave the office. However, it is not recommended to check-in new revisions to the offline repository as it may conflict with changes made to the online repository.
