CVS Project Parameters
CS-CVS' main aim is ease-of-use. Simple configuration of
CVS projects saves time. CS-CVS has several predefined settings for
popular OpenSource communities and CVS hosting sites. All needed is to
select the desired project - and within minutes work can begin!

Document Explorer
The
Document Explorer allows you to view and organize all files
which have been checked-in to the Repository, as well as view general
information about them. The
single-window display gives maximum control over all project and file level
operations. |

Visual diff
Modified files are automatically viewed through one of the
ComponentSoftware's Diff programs. CSDiff, HTMLDiff and ExcelDiff give
you a simple, easy to read comparison of a variety of files, including text,
HTML, XML, MS-Word and Excel.
CSDiff also
allows accepting and rejecting changes. |

Merge conflicts dialog
When multiple users are working on the same file revisions at the same
time, conflicts may occur. This is also true when working with
branches. For this, CS-RCS Pro has an easy to use Merge Conflict editor
which allows viewing and comparing of all revisions involved and also
resolving conflicts by using CSDiff. |

Revision manager
The Revision Manager lists all revisions of a file and offers a
variety of operations, e.g. compare revisions, retrieve revisions or
viewing an annotated version of the file, marked by revision number,
author or date. |

Project Milestones
Whenever a project reaches a significant milestone (such as a
product release) it is recommended to mark its current status. This
mark allows you to "freeze" the current state of the project and to
recover this stage of the project if needed.
CS-RCS Pro allows you to compare milestones based
on Document names, Changes and Change details. |

Change explorer
The Change Explorer is a powerful tool which enables comparing of
milestones or dates. This tool is of great help when viewing changes
made to an entire project in the course of a specified time span.
Changes may be listed by change description or by file name. |

Advanced
Reports
The
powerful CS-RCS
Report generator
lets you customize a wide range of
reports, down to the smallest detail. The reports can be exported to various
formats and even include hyperlinks to files and comparisons. |

MS-Word / MS-Excel integration
CS-RCS is easily integrated with
MS-Word and MS-Excel. An RCS menu
menu is added to the applications' menu bar automatically when the program
is installed. This gives you access to many RCS features,
making CS-RCS part of your everyday desktop.
For binary files, like MS-Office documents,
CS-RCS supports exclusive locking to prevent hard-to-solve
conflicts.
