Using the Document Explorer

The Document Explorer allows you to view and organize all documents which are checked-in into the Repository, as well as view general information about them. From the Document Explorer's Project and Milestones menus, you can create projects, project milestones, branch projects, merge projects, and generate reports. These topics are explained in the User Guide.

To open the Document Explorer, perform one of the following:

From the Start menu, select Programs | ComponentSoftware | CS-RCS | Document Explorer.  
 
OR  
From your desktop, double-click . CS-RCS adds this icon to your desktop when the application is installed.  
 
The Document Explorer appears:  
 
 
 
 
The Document Explorer displays the following document properties:

·Document Name – The document's name.  
·Type – The document's extension.  
·Folder Name – The document's path.  
·RCS Status – The document's archive status.  
·Modified – The last date and time that the document was checked-in or modified.  
·Revision – The current archive head revision.  
·State – The workflow state of the head revision. (Pro edition only)  
·Author – The last user to modify the document.
