Customizing Projects on a Local Workstation

To customize a project on a local workstation:

1.

Open the Project Library.

2.

Select the desired project.

3.

Click Workstation.

OR

Execute the Project | Workstation Properties command in the Document Explorer window.

OR

Right-click on the project tree in the Document Explorer window and execute the Workstation Properties command.

The Workstation Properties dialog box appears:

By default, all workstations have the same work directory structure as derived from the Repository structure set when the files are added to the repository. However, you can specify a per-workstation local work directory for the selected project and its branches. For example, you might want to map the work folders to a disk that has enough disk-space or to a portable media.

The Workstation Properties dialog box displays the following properties:

Branch – Select the desired branch for which you want to set the work folder. Settings a work folder to the <Trunk> will affect all branches unless you specify a different work folder for the branch. Specifying a different work folder for branches enables concurrent development of branches.

Use default – Use the project defined work folder which was set when the project was created. On branches, the default work folder is the local folder defined to the trunk, if any.

Use local – Define a work folder on local workstation. Press '...' to browse for the desired folder.

Click on the 'Advanced' tab to set the project's advanced settings for the local workstation.

Click OK to save the new settings. CS-RCS will apply the new settings to all sub-projects of this project as well.

Note: The mapping of working-files to projects is done using a best-fit method, meaning CS-RCS searches the projects and selects the project where the work folder is the closest to the work-file path.
