Specifying the Workflow Range
Top  Previous  Next

To set the workflow range for a specific project, open the project in the Document Explorer and select Define Range from the Workflow menu. This feature is enabled for the project administrators only.

The Workflow Range dialog appears:

The workflow range defines the time-range of the changes included in the lifecycle control. The Starting Point has to be defined by milestones (see for Working with Milestones for more information). You may either use existing milestones or define new ones. The Ending Point may contain milestone or system defined points (see later).

Click Add Milestone to add a new milestone which you would like to use as a Starting or Ending Point.

The Workflow Range dialog allows you to perform following:
·Inherit from system – Inherit work range from master project. This option is disabled on top-projects.
·Branch – CS-RCS allows you to control changes on every branch of parallel development. Select the branch for which you would like to define a range.
·Staring Point – Select a milestone which defines the starting time of the lifecycle.
·Ending Point – The Ending Point may be defined by one of the following:
·Milestone – Select a milestone which defines the ending time of the lifecycle. This option is useful if you wish to work on a specific time range.
·Current Date – Select this option to define "now" as your ending point. You may enter this dialog at any time and press "Update" to set the time to current. This option is useful if you wish to update the task list at a specific time e.g. once a day.
·Floating Endpoint – When this option is selected, the End Point is constantly up to date. This option is useful if you want your task list to be up to date at all time.
