It is recommended to run this tutorial on a standard Windows file-server or a Windows shared folder using a LAN connection. If you intend to use another server or network connection, follow this tutorial using a Windows shared folder. Then refer to Setting Up a Workgroup Environment in the User Guide to confirm that your system meets the RCS Repository server requirements, and re-install CS-RCS using your desired configuration.

Note: To define a Windows shared folder, select any folder within the Windows Explorer, right-click, and select Sharing. Select the Shared As option, and enable read-write permission for all users.

Assign one user the job of the CS-RCS administrator. Follow the steps below using this user's workstation:
1.Download CS-RCS from the ComponentSoftware website at: http://www.ComponentSoftware.com
2.Extract the ZIP file to a temporary folder.
3.Double-click SETUP.EXE. If you get any error messages, see the Troubleshooting section of the FAQ.
4.Click Master Setup.
5.Click Next twice to confirm the License Agreement and the User Name.
6.Select Workgroup.
7.Click Next. Specify a globally accessible network path for the Repository root (for example: \\Server\RCS or R:\RCS).
8.Click Next.
9.Follow the instructions.
10.Follow the Single-User Tutorial in Getting Started to become familiar with CS-RCS and to verify that you have full access to the Repository.

Select another workstation. Follow the steps below to install CS-RCS on any workstation:

Note: You must use a different user name for this workstation than the one used above.

1.Extract the CS-RCS ZIP file to a temporary folder.
2.Double-click SETUP.EXE.
3.Click Workstation Setup.
4.Click Next twice to confirm the License Agreement and the User Name.
