How can I use CS-RCS from two computers with the same login name?

Normally, the project work folder is located on the local disk, for example, C:\Projects\ProjectX. You should define the project work folder using a per-user server folder that is accessible from every workstation.

You can do this by either:
·Define the project Work Folder as N:\Projects\ProjectX where N is a user-specific network drive.

OR

·Execute Project | Workstation properties and define the Local work folder using a per-user folder on the server, for example, \\Server\UserA\Projects\ProjectX. (Tip: You may set the default project work folder read-only in order to force users to define the Local work folder value.)

You may also consider using different CS-RCS user names on every machine. This will allow you to easily synchronize changes made on one computer with changes made on the other one. If you are not able to change the login name on one of the computers, please contact ComponentSoftware for advise. If one of your computers is a portable laptop, please see the Networking section of the FAQ.
