Why do I get the message: CS-RCS Server cannot be loaded?

If you get this message, please visit the news page on the CS-RCS website and make sure you are using the latest version of CS-RCS. Then, follow these steps:

A)
1.From the Start menu, select Programs | ComponentSoftware | CS-RCS | Properties. If you get any error message - fix it and retry.  
2.From the Start menu, select  Run...  
3.Type: "C:\Program Files\ComponentSoftware\CS-RCS\System\csrcssrv.exe" /automation and click OK.  
4.If you get any error message - fix it and retry.  
5.Open the Windows Task Manager and switch to the Processes tab. Search for a process named CSRCSSRV  
6.If you see the CSRCSSRV process, try to activate the Document Explorer.  

B) If you run CS-RCS on Windows 2000:
1.From the Start menu, click Run.      
2.Enter DCOMCNFG. The Distributed COM Configuration Properties dialog box appears.      
3.Win2000: Click the Default Security tab. WinXP:      
4.In the Default Access Permissions section, click Edit Default.  
5.Verify that the user's group is allowed to access and launch DCOM objects.      
6.Click OK.  
7.Re-install CS-RCS.  
8.Open Windows Explorer.  
9.Double-click C:\ProgramFiles\ComponentSoftware\CS-RCS\System\csrcssrv.exe.  
10.Open the Document Explorer. Now you should not receive the message ("CS-RCS Server cannot be loaded").  
     
If you run CS-RCS on Windows XP:
1.From the Start menu, click Run.      
2.Enter DCOMCNFG. The Component Services dialog box appears.      
3.Click the Configure My Computer button at the right on the toolbar.      
4.Select the Default COM Security tab.  
5.Click Edit Default in the Access Permissions section and verify that the user's group is allowed to access DCOM objects.   Repeat for Launch Permissions.  
6.Click OK.  
7.Re-install CS-RCS.  
8.Open Windows Explorer.  
9.Double-click C:\ProgramFiles\ComponentSoftware\CS-RCS\System\csrcssrv.exe.  
10.Open the Document Explorer. Now you should not receive the message ("CS-RCS Server cannot be loaded").
